These fields are required before you can request any functions from the COSINE Online Service. Please supply your user identifier and password. After filling in these items, you can proceed to the Function Selection section.
Function Selection
You should upgrade your browser if necessary to Microsoft Internet Explorer® version 6.0, 7.0, 8.0 or higher, Mozilla Firefox® version 3.5 or higher, Google Chrome® version 3 or higher, or Apple Safari® version 4 or higher. Browsers based on the above or compatible with them may also be usable. To access the graphical retrieval interface, you no longer need an ActiveX control or a plug-in, since the interface is now provided via a Web Map Service (WMS) -based application provided by the MNR. If you do not already have WinZip® for your PC, you might consider purchasing it in order to be able to handle “tarred” reference sketch image files. Finally, you should also consider downloading and installing the (free) Adobe Reader® in order to view and print the (currently very few) reference sketch image files that use PDF encoding.

This is the interface for all geodetic control data for the Province of Ontario. For Toronto-specific retrievals, you should normally use the Toronto interface, instead. With the graphical interface, be sure to try the Find Location tab of the control section in the left-hand panel of the map backdrop section of the Retrieval form. The Place Names and Control Monument Name methods are likely to be the most useful ones for zooming-in to the control that you require. Note that the latter method allows you to use an obsolete name of a station.

The interface for Toronto-specific retrievals is intended to replace the HVCNCD system formerly distributed by the City of Toronto. Be sure to try out the Find Location tab of the control section in the left-hand panel of the map backdrop section of the Retrieval form. The Toronto Intersection and Control Monument Name methods are likely to be the most useful methods for zooming-in to the control you require.
